Blue Flame Gas, Co., an independent propane distributor, is a success story in American business. Blue Flame has been continuously owned and operated by the Liporace family of Hoosick Falls, NY since its founding in 1946.

It is now one of the oldest family-owned propane businesses in the United States. Blue Flame is currently in its fourth generation of the Liporace family that is actively involved in the company’s management and staff. For the life of the company, gas sales and service have been Blue Flame’s primary offering.

The on-going growth of the company and the increased technical complexity of gas appliance and equipment have combined to make greater challenges for the employees and management team. These have been met with the same commitment to quality held to over previous generations.

Currently, over 7500 accounts are served from four operation centers; Hoosick Falls, NY, Gloversville, NY, South Glens Falls, NY, and our newest location in Londonderry, VT. This enables Blue Flame to offer expert services in an area covering Southwestern Vermont to Central New York and from the New York Thruway to the Adirondack Park. Blue Flame is a long-standing and active member of both the National and New York Propane Gas Associations. All employees are enrolled in their certified employee training programs. Coupled with the long-term implementation of the residential “Gas Check” safety inspections recommended by the NPGA, Blue Flame puts a major emphasis on providing leadership and developing excellence. The company’s ability to offer propane to residential, industrial, commercial and wholesale consumers– and to do so at competitive pricing– is enhanced by its wide selection of appliance offerings. These include cooking equipment, gas grills, hearth stoves, fireplaces and a myriad of other residential, commercial, and industrial equipment.

As for its competitive gas pricing, Blue Flame allows customers to “lock in” prices for a heating season, reducing economic hardship for its customers if a spike in commodity prices was to occur.
